She had had enough.
She watched him rest on the small boulder, his head down, his chest heaving. She would say something, but what’s the point? He was beyond mocking.
It was supposed to be a casual hike up a small mountain and he couldn’t even handle that. Worst part was she was a bit winded too. Not long ago – before him – she would’ve been up and back down without breaking a sweat.
So a choice was made. There’s no way she could spend the rest of her days anchored to an unfit specimen like this.
