Two crows, working together. One on each side of his ladder. A quick flick of their beaks sent his only means of escape crashing to the ground.
They had caught him at work, in the middle of repairing a roof. Just a regular everyday guy doing his regular everyday job. And if he hadn’t seen this happen with his own two eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it.
But now he was stuck. And attracting company.
Two crows had suddenly multiplied into two dozen.
The birds closed in, wings spread, black beady eyes focused, forcing him to choose.
