The Great Lake Guardian

It happened on a scorching day in early June.

A group of young girls went to the Great Lake for a swim after school. An hour later Florence Jamison had disappeared.

Endless searches of the local watering hole by family, friends and townsfolk proved to be fruitless. Her body was never found.

Soon after a plaque was placed on a bench marking the tragic occasion.

Legend has it that her ghost watches over all those who still swim there. And at night, she sleeps on the bench bearing her name.

Believable or not, there hasn’t been a missing child since.
