My Afternoon Zoom

That Friday afternoon Zoom call was the bane of my existence.

But I knew what they were thinking: keep the remote employees engaged, interested, and make sure everyone knew management cared. We were “one big family” after all.

Something was different about today’s call though.

I’d never seen her before. Long chestnut hair, olive skin, dazzling blue eyes. Had to be a new hire.

Even more intriguing… the way she devoured her ice cream cone. She must’ve thought her camera was off. Much to everyone else’s amusement, it wasn’t.

Confident, messy, and unapologetic.

Suddenly, I couldn’t wait to meet her.
