A Journey’s End

She heard the gears grind. They were just moments away from landing.

She looked out the airplane window and saw the Tower looming in the distance. She should’ve been thrilled; she’d never been to Paris before.

She wasn’t.

They had been together for nearly a decade, but the relationship wasn’t working anymore. He begged though, then pleaded. Give him another chance.

She agreed and had regretted it ever since even though the man had splurged: first class tickets, five-star accommodations, reservations at top-flight restaurants.

She felt the plane touch down. Her first time in another country.

Too little, too late.
