He thought it was a dream. But when he finally awoke, he realized the honks for help were much too real.
He stepped from his rented room and saw them – the innkeeper’s three daughters.
They begged and pleaded for his help. They couldn’t spend the rest of their lives attached to this filthy barnyard animal.
But all he could do was shake his head in disgust. He had warned them. Don’t be greedy. Don’t pilfer the solid gold feathers from his golden goose.
Yet did they listen? They did not.
And people have the nerve to call him a simpleton…
