400 Balls

He didn’t know the why, but he did know the what. Build a robot that can kick a ball exactly 350 feet.

So, Dr. Jacoby cashed a sizable check and assembled his team. Five robotic engineers. Supposedly the best in the country.

Three weeks later, the world-renowned scientist watched ball number 399 sail over the fence on a baseball field that was costing him hundreds of dollars a day in rent.

“Is it really this hard?” he asked, throwing his clipboard to the ground.

None of the other engineers answered. No one even looked at him.

“Okay, let’s go again.”
