“Might we add some drama?” Will asked. “Perhaps make this anecdote a bit more compelling?”

Ike wasn’t fond of being dishonest. He was an esteemed mathematician and physicist after all and lying about such trivial matters seemed beneath him.

But his old friend was writing a biography. His biography. It would be in his best interest to appear more… interesting.

“Let us say this,” Will continued. “Let us say a ripe red apple fell from a tree and landed on your head instead.”

Ike nodded. A little white lie wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Besides, no one would ever remember it anyway.
