An Easy Decision

His afternoon snack was being weighed like contraband. One cup of raw veggies – Mom’s orders. But the nanny didn’t have to look so smug while doing it, especially with that bag of mini chocolate bars sitting in plain view.

Downright evil.

He crept forward, his empty stomach shockingly quiet. The moment she turned, the boy snatched the bag and bolted. He dove over the sofa, clutching the plastic sack to his chest.

He considered unwrapping a single bar, but no – he didn’t need the distraction.  

A few pieces now or savor the entire haul later?
