A Good Start

“I didn’t order this,” he said.

Can’t afford it either. That’s what should have followed if he were being honest. But he had no intention of being that truthful with her. At least not yet.

The woman at his door wasn’t much better off. Delivering pizzas at her age and not even doing it very well. She had the wrong apartment and the wrong building.

“Want it anyway?” was her answer.

Two strangers, neither one lighting the world on fire.

A match made in heaven? Not likely. But sharing a large cheese with pepperoni first?

That didn’t sound half bad.
