The overzealous guard was doing manual pat downs. No one was getting through airport security unmolested.
I couldn’t risk it, though. My plan would be foiled.
I ducked under the conveyor belt, then dipped behind a stray supply cart. And fooled no one.
“Come back here!” yelled the other guard on duty.
But I was already sprinting down the corridor hoping to arrive before her plane took off.
I found her, third in line. I dropped to my knee as she gasped. Tears flowed.
I reached for my jacket pocket, found it bare.
Not exactly a proposal for the ages.
