Inside Job

A late-night heist. Thousands in cash missing. The most popular restaurant in town left reeling.

Word was it was an inside job. That was certainly the vibe when the incensed owners demanded an all-hands at 9am the next morning.

Two detectives in dark blazers walked among the collection of overworked and underpaid employees, some still in their sweat-stained whites.

“We’re reviewing security footage,” said the short one.

“And we already have some very promising leads,” warned the skinny one.

One of the sous-chefs pulled down her sleeve covering her distinctive birthmark.

She had no intention of making their job easier.
